The White House barred several news organizations from an off-camera press briefing . . . handpicking a select group of reporters that included a number of conservative outlets friendly toward Donald Trump. . . The “gaggle” with Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, took place in lieu of his daily briefing and was originally scheduled as an on-camera event. . . Donald Trump tells CPAC: 'We are Americans and the future belongs to us . . . But the White House press office announced later in the day that the Q&A session would take place off camera before only an . . . “expanded pool” of journalists, and in Spicer’s West Wing office as opposed to the James S Brady press briefing room where it is typically held. . . . Outlets seeking to gain entry whose requests were denied included the Guardian, the New York Times, Politico, CNN, BuzzFeed, the BBC, the Daily Mail and others. Conservative publications such as Breitbart News, the One America News Network and the Washington Times were allowed into the meeting, as well as TV networks CBS, NBC, Fox and ABC. The Associated Press and Time were invited but boycotted the briefing. . . . The decision to limit access to Spicer, hours after Trump once again declared that much of the media was “the enemy of the American people” while speaking at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, marked a dramatic shift. . . ."

One fact that I

The "so-called" President [Clinton 65,844,954 (48.2%)/Trump 62,979,879 (46.1%)], formerly a "so-called" successful businessman [Trump Airlines, Beverages, The Game, casinos, magazine, mortgage, steaks, travel site, comms company, Trump Tower Tampa, vodka] has 'stocked his cabinet' with "so-called" experts in multiple fields. Some are Betsy DeVos, "so-called" education reformer [no professional experience in public schools, never attended public schools or sent her own children to public schools, has never held public office], Top "so-called" strategist Steve Bannon [promised to go after big banks, worked for one of the biggest-Goldman Sachs], "so-called" housing expert Ben Carson [remarked that "Obamacare is really I think the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery"] and "so-called" justice expert Jeff Sessions [The Justice Department announced this month it's no longer fighting an injunction blocking Obama-era guidance that protects transgender students under Title IX].

Meet . . .

. . . Ellis Woodward

. . . one of four Baltimore artists performing at "The Thought Behind the Songs" Tuesday, March 28 at Germano's Piatini in Baltimore. . .

Ellis Woodward has enjoyed a meandering and eclectic creative path, having written, recorded, and released four independent album/CD projects, written a theme song for a PBS children's TV show pilot, been awarded a grant to write and record public service announcements about water conservation and recycling, and been commissioned to write a song detailing the dangers of food allergies in children. In January 2015, Ellis was a judge in the children's category of the MASC (Mid-Atlantic Song Contest), sponsored by SAW, (Songwriters Association of Washington). Three times, Ellis has been a showcase-featured writer/member of the Baltimore Songwriters' Association (BSA), and is currently a Coordinator for the Baltimore chapter of NSAI (the Nashville Songwriters Association International)... In the early 2000s, Ellis co-wrote a musical celebrating the centennial of the Wright Bros first self-powered flight (Right Place, Right Time, Wright Brothers), a show that has since been performed in theaters, schools, and museums around the country... In December of 2016, Ellis was inducted into the Maryland Entertainment Hall of Fame, a cherished acknowledgment of decades of writing and performing. http://www.yoellis.com/

Aiming directly at Hamiltonian arguments that the government ought to favor the wealthy to consolidate the Union, he asserted that a republican government should insure political equality, encourage an equitable distribution of property, abstain from granting special privileges, and thereby diminish the unnecessary party strife caused by partisan measures. A balance of parties based on natural and inevitable differences would then serve the cause of freedom. Madison next asserted that the British government, far from being a good example of a balance of "king, lords, and commons," in fact was virtuous only insofar as public admirers of Britain, Madison meant his readers to think. The true model for a balance of powers that would prevent abuses was the American system, with its separation of the departments in the federal government and the division of powers between it and the states. Madison counseled that "those who love their country, its repose, and its republicanism, will study to avoid the alternative" of disunion or tyranny by observing scrupulously the prescribed limits, and particularly by desisting from acts that would heighten jealousies and animosities. So much for Hamilton's programs to favor the commercial classes and to consolidate power in the federal government. . ."
