This is the One Year Anniversary of my Presidency and the Democrats wanted to give me a nice present. #DemocratShutdown

PLEASE, PLEASE, give him the really BIG present he so justly deserves. . . REMOVAL!!! Start talking to your level-headed co-legislators on BOTH sides NOW about the 25th amendment. How much longer will you let this country suffer?

". . . Prince George’s County (Maryland) executive Rushern Baker is calling for President Donald Trump to resign after remarks the president made about the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia. On Tuesday, Trump declared again "there is blame on both sides" for the deadly violence last weekend in Charlottesville, appearing to once again equate the actions of white supremacist groups and those protesting them. . . Baker issued a statement, calling Trump’s comment doubling down on refusing to directly criticize the hate groups involved in Charlottesville. . . "President of The United States Donald J. Trump is unfit to serve the people of our country and should resign, effective immediately. His equivocation on the incidents which transpired this past weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia is an affront to the promise of this nation, our World War II Veterans, the families of the Charlottesville victims, and every citizen past and present, and his actions have no place in the Oval Office. . . During these times of unnerving, regressive, divisive, heightened rhetoric, Americans of all creeds and colors have traditionally looked to the Presidency as a moral compass to guide our way through the morass and right the ship. Empathizing with the message and mission of organizations linked to a bloody legacy of domestic terrorism, racist attacks, and anti-Semitic violence leaves too many citizens of this great nation with no confidence that their President honors or understands the responsibility of the office, or can assure application of the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment. . . Regretfully, as a citizen, and as an elected representative of over 900,000 Marylanders who come from all over the world, who are veterans of foreign wars, who have struggled for civil rights, who have participated in suffrage movements, and who love peace and prosperity, I contend we have gone far enough under President Trump and that he should resign for the good of the nation.". . ."
(from https://www.mintpressnews.com/green-party-senate-candidate-margaret-flowers-crashes-two-party-debate/221860/)
". . . Dr. Margaret Flowers, a Green Party candidate for Senate from Maryland, interrupted a televised debate to protest her exclusion from the forum . . .“I’m a candidate on the ballot. I have a statewide campaign. I don’t understand why I’m not up here,” Flowers declared as she briefly occupied the debate stage. . . Flowers is running for the seat long occupied by Democratic incumbent Barbara Mikulski, who announced her retirement earlier this year. . . During the direct action, Flowers took the stage amid loud applause from the audience and shook hands with her opponents, Democratic nominee Chris Van Hollen and Republican nominee Kathy Szeliga, both of whom agreed to debate Flowers. . . Despite being welcomed by her opponents, the organizers of the debate, CBS Baltimore and the University of Baltimore, refused to allow Flowers to participate. . . "
. . . who is threatened by an open debate among ALL candidates?

(from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick,_Maryland)
". . . The earliest European settlement was slightly north of Frederick in Monocacy, Maryland. Founded before 1730, when the Indian trail became a wagon road, Monocacy was abandoned before the American Revolutionary War, perhaps due to the river's periodic flooding or hostilities predating the French and Indian War, or simply Frederick's better location with easier access to the Potomac River near its confluence with the Monocacy. . . Daniel Dulany—a land speculator—laid out "Frederick Town" by 1745. Three years earlier, All Saints Church had been founded on a hilltop near a warehouse/trading post. Sources disagree as to which Frederick the town was named for, but the likeliest candidates are Frederick Calvert, 6th Baron Baltimore (one of the proprietors of Maryland, Frederick Louis, Prince of Wales, or Frederick "The Great" of Prussia. Most sources favor Calvert. . . In 1742, Maryland's General Assembly made Frederick the county seat of Frederick County, which then extended to the Appalachian mountains (areas further west being disputed between the colonies of Virginia and Pennsylvania until 1789). The current town's first house was built by a young German Reformed schoolmaster from the Rhineland Palatinate named Johann Thomas Schley (died 1790), who led a party of immigrants (including his wife, Maria Von Winz) to the Maryland colony. The Palatinate settlers bought land from Dulany on the banks of Carroll Creek, and Schley's house stood at the northwest corner of Middle Alley and East Patrick Street into the 20th century. Schley's settlers also founded a German Reformed Church (today known as Evangelical Reformed Church, and part of the UCC). Probably the oldest house still standing in Frederick today is Schifferstadt, built in 1756 by German settler Joseph Brunner and now the Schifferstadt Architectural Museum. . ."

". . . Today, 11/06/15: Off to Bill Pratt's Woodlawn production studio (The Bratt) to collate the score of tunes intended to grace our forthcoming compilation of tunes about Maryland (& related topics) by local musicians/bands (The MD/CD). These will be then handed over to engineer/producer/author Tyree Ford for mastering. When I get this finished master back, then begins the arduous task of (for me) securing licenses authorizing the use of 5 of the 6 cover songs ("Baltimore," "Barefoot in Baltimore," "Raining in Baltimore," "The Streets of Baltimore" & "The Lady Came From Baltimore") as well as assembling the credits; then (for David Pugh) creating an attractive graphic package. Is that "Ode to Baltimore" somewhere in this compendium? Time will be the wiser. . "

(from http://ococean.com/explore-oc/oc-history/)
". . . The sun and surf of Ocean City, Maryland, have been attracting visitors since Algonquian tribes first came to our beaches to fish and sun themselves. Europeans first arrived in 1524 when Giovanni da Verrazano surveyed the east coast of North America. By the 17th century, British colonists had moved north from Virginia and settled in the area. Due to Ocean City's isolation as a barrier island, the town remained a sleepy fishing village until 1875, when the Atlantic Hotel began welcoming visitors. The following year, the railroad bridged Sinepuxent Bay, and a resort was born. In 1878, heroes took up residence. The U.S. Life-Saving Service, an ancestor of today's Coast Guard, established a station here. Their mission: to venture out in stormy seas and rescue shipwreck victims. The second station, built in 1891, is now the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum, enshrining Ocean City's history and saluting the brave men who worked here. In 1900, the first boardwalk was constructed. Trimper's Amusements opened shortly after. Unlike today, however, the boardwalk wasn't a year-round fixture. The boards were actually taken up in the winter, and stored until the following spring! . . . "

(source: http://articles.baltimoresun.com/1997-03-09/features/1997068134_1_cell-holmes-dig)
The recent escape of two convicted killers from Clinton Correctional Facility brought to mind a story I had read years ago about an equally resourceful but less threatening inmate who earned the distinction of the 'only resident of the Maryland Penitentiary to ever dig his way to freedom."Tunnel Joe" Holmes, who on July 8, 1949 was in the eighth of a 20-year sentence for burglary, decided to dig for his freedom. His major motivation was as he feared that his long imprisonment would cause him to "blow up -- as he'd seen others do in nearby cells," said The Sun. After 20 months of steady labor chipping at the slate cell floor under his cot, he completed a narrow, muddy tube 70 feet long that carried him 26 feet down and under the prison's walls to a grassy plot to nearby East Eager and Forrest streets, from which he made his escape. It took Joe 40 days to complete the project and taste freedom. The tunnel, dug with only a nail attached to a stick and bare hands, was only wide enough for him to wiggle through. As he dug, Jo packed the dirt in hand-sewn bags to bring to the surface and flush away in his toilet. He even designed a 9 foot deep by 6 wide drain to dispose of 140 gallons of water nightly. In the early hours of Feb. 18, 1951, Joe packed his clothes and $152 in numbers winnings took forty five minutes to make his way through the tunnel. Upon emerging, he changed into dry pants and shirt and cleared the 7-foot picket fence near the warden's house and dropped into Eager Street. He wisely high-tailed it through Wilmington, Del., Philadelphia, Pa., and New Haven, Conn., returning to Baltimore. Joe was eventually apprehended by police during a Howard Street shootout in a bowling alley after he pulled a $5 holdup the cook in wealthy home on Mount Vernon Place. Joe passed away in 1973. Not sure whether he was 'out' or 'in' at the time.
The case of Matt and Sweat in New York may be every bit as dazzling, but in the present climate of fantastic feats, unconscionable acts and extremely bad people, Joe's story somehow holds a bit of atmospheric romance and harmlessness. . . at least for me.

Q - I live in the southern part of Maryland, right on the border of DC and MD. I write for local Okinawan interest articles for the Okinawa Times in Okinawa and ever since I found and bought your tin can set album of Okinawa, I have been wondering if you had some personal connection to the island. Would you mind telling me your story? Please excuse me if you were asked the question many times, but I have been unable to find anything, as a mysterious band you are. Hope to hear from you.
A - The band were brainstorming for a title. We wanted a title where the "OHO" vowel sound also sounded in the title. The bassist's father was an American soldier who was stationed in Okinawa, and he had a black silk jacket with your island embroidered on it, which we hung in the studio for inspiration. So, while not totally random, there is only this fabricated connection to the music. Little Wing of Refugees, a German record label, apparently took its country's status as a Japanese ally more seriously; & so you have all the South Pacific war imagery in their version of the release.
BTW OHO stands for the 1st initials of the last names of the band's 3 founding members; what does "OHO" mean in Japanese?

(fromhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Airy,_Maryland)
Mt. Airy was established in 1830 and continued to develop throughout the decade, beginning with the construction of house settlements along Parr's Ridge. A man named Henry Bussard built the first of these houses. This town was known for its train station on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (B&O) at Parr's Ridge. The railroad ran from Baltimore to Frederick, cities to the east and west, respectively, of Mt. Airy. Following 1830, the town received its official name after the suggestion of "Mount Airy" from an Irish B&O worker who complained about his freezing ears on a windy work day.[citation needed] Over the years, milling, canning and sewing industries initially helped support Mt. Airy's economy.
The city's proximity to the National Road contributed to its growth. The National Road ran west from Baltimore to Illinois. By the 1890s, the city's growth had increased significantly and three new churches were built (one Episcopal and two Methodist), along with a very important bridge, still standing and known by residents as the Twin Arch, that helped with railroad transportation. Four great fires (1903, 1914,1925 and more recently 2007) burned though the downtown district, but the town rebuilt every time.
The Mount Airy Historic District that includes the railroad station was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
Currently, Mt. Airy is no longer economically dependent on the railroad, as citizens work a variety of different jobs. Many of its citizens work in Washington, DC or Baltimore; the city is a part of both of those cities' metropolitan areas. Mt. Airy is a neighborhood community for these job centers. Mt. Airy is similar to back in the day with the national road but now with Interstate 70 bordering the southern end of town with an interchange with MD-27. In the last few decades Mount Airy has had a lot of growth with the town which was part of the Residential project of the Mount Airy Master Plan from the 1994 to 2003 update.

Elk Run Vineyards is nestled in the rolling hills of Frederick County
surrounded by dairy and horse farms, fields of wheat and corn. The name
“Elk Run” was chosen for a stream. The deed name to the property is the
“Resurvey of Cold Friday.” It was a land grant from the King of England
to Lord Baltimore. The winemaker’s home is circa 1756. Since 1983 Fred
and Carol Wilson and Neill Bassford, family and friends, have made Elk
Run a shining star among American wine producers.
For the past 5 years Julian Wilson has taken on greater
responsibility for field management, wine making as well as the most
knowledgeable in new marking technology. Lauren Wilson, Julian’s wife, a
former Technical Director for WHAG in Hagerstown, has taken on
marketing & event work for the winery.
Using new world research and technology while maintaining the
traditions and values of old world practices, Elk Run’s focus is on
producing high quality wine from high quality grapes. Practicing
sustainable agriculture, on 25 acres, dense planted and controlled crop
is heightened by the soils of schist and shale which allow for deep
roots and good drainage. Eight hundred foot elevations help keep the
vineyard safe from frost danger. Warm days and cool nights preserve the
fruity character in the wines. Practicing sustainable agriculture, close
spacing with great attention to crop levels allow the wine maker to
create wines of varietal character, structure, balance and good color.
While a few wines are augmented by additional fruit, Elk Run Grows
all the varieties it makes. Elk Run is the sole grower, producer of
Gewurztraminer, the first and one of two who grow Pinot Noir ( 4 time
Gold medal winner in 2012 for our 2010.
