I just read https://www.politico.com/news/2020/01/31/dnc-superdelegates-110083 and hope to (whatever I should hope to, since i don't believe in a theistic, invasive) god that the Democratic party does NOT make the same mistake it made in 2016. . . PLEASE let the people make their choice and DO NOT pit a candidate that is NOT fully supported by the general, Democratic population against trump. Please LEARN from history (circa 2016.) WE WILL end up with four more (unbearable) years of the orange imbecile if you do not learn this vital lesson from the last election. . . I beg you. . . PLEASE let the populace make the choice!!!

As she put it:  Well, it was southern Democrats that fought for slavery. Oh, and the KKK, it was originally an arm of the southern Democratic Party. The mission: to terrorize freed slaves, and those who sympathize with them which would be “the Radical Republicans.” . . . Dems largely opposed the 13th Amendment, she said. That bigotry continued through the decades, even to the vote for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (“supported by a higher proportion of Republicans than Democrats”) and racist President Lyndon Johnson. She said that the current Democratic depictions of the Republicans as bigoted are really just self-serving hypocrisy. . ."

As Neo-Confederates continue to defend the American Swastika, they keep talking about ‘remembering history.’ But there’s a difference between remembering what happened versus celebrating it. . . Listening to them, one would think a statue of Robert E. Lee or a high-flying Confederate flag is similar to Yad Va’Shem or the Toul Sleng Museum. They’re not. The former celebrate a spirited defense of what was a massive labor camp governed by an deliberately calibrated regime of torture and terror. . . It’s fine to remember history–all of it. But that’s very different from celebrating it.

"If we don't do anything, we might shoot over 5 degrees or more and that would be catastrophic," said John Reilly, the co-director of the program, adding that MIT's scientists had had no contact with the White House and were not offered a chance to explain their work. . ."
