Play . . .
. . . your little game of self-importance
Show us just how wonderful you are
Dazzle with deception all the minions
Who have placed their trust in you
So innocent so true
Have you never placed yourself in someone else's shoes
Have you never tried to see their point of view
You're thorough to ensure that everything will go your way
Would you like them all to do the same to you
So now I find you don't want to look me in the eye
I hope I never sympathize with things you do
in the unrelenting interest of you
Back in school they taught us to be civil
Treat each other how you'd like to be
Even though you'd like to think you're special
We're the same both you and me
Have you ever tried to focus and just see
So now I find you don't want to look me in the eye
I hope I never sympathize with things you do
in the unrelenting interest of you
Walk a mile in someone else's shoes to know
Exactly how they feel
You might think the world owes you a favor but
It's still not right to steal
Please believe you me I'm not that sterling
Everyone does things they can regret
Even in the noblest you will find
Humanity will cause diversion from the truest path
But now I find you don't want to look me in the eye
I hope I never sympathize with things you do
in the unrelenting interest of you
Relentless

Help . . .
It's getting really old hearing from theses web music artist 'services' who have the secret to your success. It's really just the secret to their success because they're plugging THEIR service and the only secret is that you have to give them money. Then they post the video testimonial. The 'bait' email says ". . . thanks to our bag of tricks this artist grabbed over 297% more sales and she is going to tell you she did it. . . "
And if you don't read that carefully, you don't realize that that is ALL she does. In 28 seconds, this artist simply tells you that she DID IT.
Convinced? . . . me either.

Have kids . . .
. . . today lost all respect for their elders? Is this REALLY the major problems with the world today? I don't think they all have. And, I don't think so (in that order) . . .
The spark that started World War I was the assassination of Austria's Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie. The assassination occurred on June 28, 1914 while Ferdinand was visiting the city of Sarajevo in the Austro-Hungarian province of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Although Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the nephew of Austria's emperor and heir-apparent to the throne, was not very well liked by most, his assassination by a Serb nationalist was viewed as a great excuse to attack Austria-Hungary's troublesome neighbor, Serbia.
However, instead of reacting quickly to the incident, Austria-Hungary made sure they had the backing of Germany, with whom they had a treaty, before they proceeded. This gave Serbia time to get the backing of Russia, with whom they had a treaty.
The calls for back-up didn't end there. Russia also had a treaty with France and Britain.
This meant that by the time Austria-Hungary officially declared war on Serbia on July 28, 1914, an entire month after the assassination, much of Europe had already become entangled in the dispute.

Refreshing . . .
(Thanks to: http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/06/25/youre-being-silly-foxs-neil-cavuto-mocks-michele-bachmanns-impeachment-talk/ and wikipedia.com)
Neil Cavuto (Fox News) exhibited behavior fitting, refreshing and long-overdue when he questioned outgoing Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) about House Republicans’ threat to sue President Barack Obama, accusing them of engaging in political theater that they know will not go anywhere in the courts.
“You’re conflating issues and you’re being silly,” Cavuto told Bachmann. “Where was your rage when Democrats were going after President Bush on the same use of executive orders? Because I think you knew then that that was a waste of time then and I think you know in your heart of hearts this is a waste of time now. There are far more important things that I think you guys have to be addressing than filing lawsuits past each other.”House Speaker John Boehner announced Wednesday he plans to file suit against President Obama over his alleged abuse of executive power.
Take note American press and media, Mr. Neil Cavuto exhibits journalistic standards.
Neil Cavuto became the managing editor of business news and television anchor of Your World with Neil Cavuto on Fox News Channel in July 1996, later becoming a vice president of business news in March 2006. He serves all three positions concurrently. Your World is Fox's main business news program. Before joining Fox, he hosted Power Lunch on CNBC and contributed to NBC's Today. He worked with the Public Broadcasting Service for 15 years. He was also a New York City bureau chief. He has been awarded numerous times by his peers in the journalism industry, including recognition by the Wall Street Journal as the best interviewer in business news, best business television interviewer four consecutive years, and five nominations for Cable ACE awards Cavuto was also awarded the 1980 Hellinger Award, the highest award for graduating journalism students from St. Bonaventure University. Cavuto has interviewed many high profile business, political and world leaders.
Fox News, of ALL places. Hell of a thing!

Nose . . .
. . . don't need no clothes. . .
. . . and sound is its own sight. . .
(from http://jazztimes.com/articles/17992-rahsaan-roland-kirk-the-cult-of-kirk)
". . . Steve Turre, who served several stints in Kirk’s bands, assembled a group featuring multi-reedist James Carter for the 2004 Kirk tribute album, The Spirits Up Above (HighNote), and led the all-star band last December at Saint Peter’s Church in New York City that paid tribute to Kirk close to the 30th anniversary of his death. Turre argues that only when people turn away from the visual—and Kirk’s videos are popular items on YouTube—and focus on the aural will they fully grasp Kirk’s achievements. “It’s all about listening,” Turre insists, “though I don’t think kids are taught that today. When I first encountered him, I’d just listen and go with the flow. We used to go up to his hotel room and listen to records in the dark. He was sightless, so he didn’t need the lights. It made me concentrate on the sound. It took me inside Rahsaan’s world and allowed me to experience music as he did.
“Yeah, the unusual aspects of his shows were amazing, but I didn’t let that stop me from hearing the music. His shows were unconventional, but only because he was being himself. It was all about feeling; it wasn’t all mechanical and contrived; it wasn’t different for different’s sake. It wasn’t for an intellectual concept; it was just Rahsaan being Rahsaan.” . . . "

Arms . . .
. . . bare arms . . .
Old news, presumably true, but disturbing in any case . . .
(from http://www.nbcnews.com/id/27399337/ns/us_news-life/t/boy-accidentally-kills-self-gun-show/#.U6Oln6gmx1T)
". . . An 8-year-old boy died after accidentally shooting himself in the head while firing an Uzi submachine gun under adult supervision at a gun fair. The boy lost control of the weapon while firing it Sunday at the Machine Gun Shoot and Firearms Expo at the Westfield Sportsman’s Club, police Lt. Lawrence Vallierpratte said. Police said the boy, Christopher Bizilj of Ashford, Conn., was with a certified instructor and called the death a “self-inflicted accidental shooting.” As the boy fired the Uzi, "the front end of the weapon went up with the backfire and he ended up receiving a round in his head," police Lt. Hipolito Nunez said. The boy died at a hospital. The boy's father and older brother were also there at the time, a gun club member and school official said. Francis Mitchell, a longtime member and trustee of the club, said he was told the boy's father was supporting his son from behind when the shooting happened. Although the death appeared to be an accident, officials were investigating. It is legal in Massachusetts for children to fire a weapon if they have permission from a parent or legal guardian and are supervised by a properly certified and licensed instructor, Lt. Hipolito Nunez said. The name of the instructor helping the boy was not released. The event ran in conjunction with C.O.P Firearms and Training, said in an ad that people are allowed to fire weapons at vehicles, pumpkins and other targets at the event. "It's all legal & fun — No permits or licenses required!!!!" reads the ad, posted on the club's Web site. Messages left on answering machines for the club and the C.O.P. group were not returned Monday. . ."

It's A Wonderful . . .
. . . process. . .
. . . putting the pieces together thoughtfully and methodically. . .
When I woke up today I had all that I want
Everything that I did brought desired results
How could this be? All the rules have been changed
In the pool where I drowned I am swimming again.
But of course I am wrong. How could I understand
When my society tells me how tall I stand?
Then I take it inside and wait for life’s kiss
Which is sure to arrive ‘cause I’m riding my bliss.
What did I do? The world holds me up
Invisible hands grant the nourishing cup
Have I found a way that has always been there?
It seems to me it came out of thin air.
The child waking up brings the old crone to tears
Pushing through my disguise see the tips of my ears
How could this be all the rules have been changed
In the pool where I drowned I am swimming again.
When I blindly reach out to what I cannot see
Grace reappears and it rescues me
I’m not what I feel, I’m not what you think
I’m only what is and what isn’t in sync.
Out Of Thin Air
('work in progress' by OHO [Jay Graboski, David Reeve, Ray Jozwiak] and guest vocalists Lisa Griffee and Kirsten Smith done at Bratt Studios with percussion done at Blue Ball Studios)
