A Very Low . . .

. . . bar
. . . for our representatives exists today . . .

(from https://thinkprogress.org/louie-gohmert-texas-republican-donald-trump-family-separation-kirstjen-nielsen-congress-fbad446cc65f/)
". . . Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) attempted to defend President Donald Trump‘s family separation policy on Thursday by implying it is no different than special counsel Robert Mueller pursuing the prosecution of Paul Manafort, thereby separating him from his own adult children. . . During a House Judiciary Committee hearing with Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, Gohmert claimed that border agents ripping young infants and children from their parents is just like the special counsel’s treatment of Trump’s former campaign chairman. . .“Mueller did it — and I know he’s a hero to some folks around here — he did it to Manafort, separated him from his two beautiful children. It happens.”. . . The two daughters of Manafort — who has been convicted on tax fraud and bank fraud charges, and pleaded guilty to conspiracy against the United States and conspiracy to obstruct justice — are both adults in their mid-30s. . . "

Punctuality. . .

. . . Dreams . . .
The bar was moderately full and the manager said we could play.  As a matter of fact, he said we could begin at any time. But we didn't even know where the stage was or how to access the venue to load our gear in.  Meantime, more and more people flowed into the room(s).  MANY, MANY more people flowed into the room.  Now the manger was sounding annoyed.  "You can start whenever you're ready!"  Ready?  How could we be ready when we still haven't located a door?  (Flash to a parking garage) Equipment unloaded from vehicles and stacked ready to be brought in.  Finally, directions were received regarding access to an elevator and the venue.  Two of us began to load the gear into the elevator, while the remaining man agreed to park the cars.  Wheeling what appears to be a Leslie tone cabinet into the lift I suddenly and regretfully realize that . . .

I FORGOT TO BRING MY 'OHO' UNIFORM!!!!
AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Tull or Till? . . .

(from https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=9036126688324230916#editor/target=post;postID=5685428847922011660;onPublishedMenu=allposts;onClosedMenu=allposts;postNum=1;src=link)
Jethro Tull,  (born 1674, Basildon, Berkshire, Eng.—died Feb. 21, 1741, Prosperous Farm, near Hungerford, Berkshire), English agronomist, agriculturist, writer, and inventor whose ideas helped form the basis of modern British agriculture. Tull trained for the bar, to which he was called in 1699. But for the next 10 years he chose to operate his father’s farm in Oxfordshire, on which about 1701 he perfected a horse-drawn seed drill that economically sowed the seeds in neat rows. This was a notable advance over the usual practice of scattering the seeds by hand. In 1709 Tull bought a farm of his own in Berkshire. While later traveling in France and Italy, he was impressed by the cultivation methods in use in the vineyards, wherein the rows of earth between the vines had been pulverized. This reduced the need for manure and increased aeration and the access of water to and from plant roots, though Tull mistakenly believed that earth was the food of plants and that pulverization made it easier for plants to absorb it. He developed a horse-drawn hoe and successfully adopted the vineyard method to his farm. His success led to the publication of his The New Horse Houghing Husbandry: Or an Essay on the Principles of Tillage and Vegetation (1731). Tull’s methods were initially subjected to violent attack, but they were eventually adopted by the large landowners and laid the basis for more modern and efficient British farming.

A Steel . . .

. . . guitar

(from wikipedia.com)
The pedal steel guitar is a musical instrument that produces sound by strings vibrating over a magnetic pickup. The instrument has reference lines where frets would be, but no actual frets—the player changes the pitch of one or more strings by sliding a metal bar (a steel) from one position to another while plucking the strings with the other hand, or vibrating them with a mechanical device. Pedal steels may have one or two "necks" that typically have 10 strings each, but may have as many as 14.

Unlike other types of steel guitar, it also uses pedals and knee levers to affect the pitch, hence the name "pedal" steel guitar. The steel in the name comes from the metal tone bar, which is called a steel.

The instrument is horizontal, with strings that face up, and typically is plucked with a thumb pick and fingers, or two or three fingerpicks. The pedals are mounted on a cross bar below the body and the knee levers extend from the bottom of the guitar's body and stretch or slacken the strings to change pitch as the guitar is played. The action of the pedals may either be fixed, or may be configurable by the player to select which strings the pedals affect. The pedal steel, with its smooth portamenti, bending chords and complex riffs, is one of the most recognizable and characteristic instruments of American country music.

While there are some fairly standard pedal assignments, many advanced players devise their own setups, called copedents. The range of copedents that can be set up varies considerably from guitar to guitar. Aftermarket modifications to make additional copedents possible are common.

The pedal steel evolved from the console steel guitar and lap steel guitar. Like the console steel, a pedal steel may have multiple necks, but the pedals make even a single-neck pedal steel a far more versatile instrument than any multiple-neck console steel.

Heaven. . .

(from http://www.lyricsfreak.com/t/talking+heads/heaven_20135027.html)
Songwriters: BYRNE, DAVID/HARRISON, JERRY

Everyone is trying to get to the bar
The name of the bar, the bar is called heaven
The band in heaven, they play my favourite song
Play it one more time, play it all night long
Heaven, heaven is a place, a place where nothing, nothing ever happens
Heaven, heaven is a place, a place where nothing, nothing ever happens
There is a party, everyone is there
Everyone will leave at exactly the same time
When this party's over, it will start again
It will not be any different, it will be exactly the same
Heaven, heaven is a place, a place where nothing, nothing ever happens
When this kiss is over it will start again
It will not be any different, it will be exactly the same
It's hard to imagine that nothing at all could be so exciting, could be this much fun
Heaven, heaven is a place, a place where nothing, nothing ever happens
Heaven, heaven is a place, a place where nothing, nothing ever happens

Who. . .

. . . is the asshole????

Visiting a local vineyard/winery this weekend which presented a show by a local Shakespeare repertory company (The Shakespeare Factory-  a professional non-union ensemble company who employ the staging conditions of Shakespeare’s time as closely as possible for each production- see http://theshakespearefactory.com/).  Wine tastings were offered as well as stews and artisan bread to enhance the 'period' atmosphere.  I was 'tasting' the wines with the three, lovely ladies accompanying me for the production at one of the two, heavily attended tasting stations and attempting to allow the limited staff to attend to the willing tasters by grouping ourselves at the corner of the bar, myself at the bar and the others branching outward away from me and the bar and passing four glasses back and forth in attempt to allow the four of us to taste all six wines offered while leaving the remainder of the tasting station free for other tasters.

In the midst of an extremely enjoyable wine tasting experience (and the wines were quite good too) I noticed a rather sour looking gentleman at the far end of the crowd, the number of which I am not quite certain, who appeared to grow more perturbed as time passed.

Finally he stepped forward and said to ME, not to the person operating the tasting station,  that 'you have monopolized this tasting' and not allowed others to partake and . . . (not really sure exactly what else he said) but he was clearly unhappy that he had not gotten HIS WINE!  Guess you could say he was whining about his lack of wine.  I responded only by stating the obvious fact that this was a 'wine tasting' and that I and three others were together tasting our allotted six samples of wine.

The obviously conscientious caretaker of the tasting station quickly spoke up and asked the gentleman what he would like and assured him that it would be served forthwith.  The man, still clearly unhappy, took a glass (maybe two, I didn't really pay much attention to the details) and began to depart the station but in his befuddlement about the process of wine tasting and a possible desire to maintain his imaginary upper  hand, he made it a point to mumble unmistakably in my direction. . . "ASSHOLE."

Who do you think was the asshole????. . . . (and do you think this tragic situation left him 'heartbroken'?)

Looking through . . .

. . . red white and yellow circles
In a field of azure blue
The perspiration beads all cover my face
Every inch of epidermal baking
Nicely to a golden hue
I would be envious if it had been you

Wading in the ocean salt and foamy
Quick salvation from the heat
a certain balance of the yin and the yan
Then when you return from Neptune's home
All displayed in fine array
Sea of humanity has filled every space

Up in the sky
Something catches your eye
As it goes by
You can hardly tell when where or why

Green the color of the turf surrounding
Blue the sky and surf those two
A gentle breeze is always present for you
You can reach euphoric heights exotic
Won't need any other drug
This kind of high is so much easier too
