Is This . . .

". . . RECOGNIZE OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO OPEN CARRY FIREARMS AT THE REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION AT THE QUICKEN LOANS ARENA IN JULY 2016

SUMMARY: In July of 2016, the GOP will host its convention at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Though Ohio is an open carry state, which allows for the open carry of guns, the hosting venue—the Quicken Loans Arena—strictly forbids the carry of firearms on their premises.

According to the policy on their website, "firearms and other weapons of any kind are strictly forbidden on the premises of Quicken Loans Arena."

This is a direct affront to the Second Amendment and puts all attendees at risk. As the National Rifle Association has made clear, "gun-free zones" such as the Quicken Loans Arena are "the worst and most dangerous of all lies." The NRA, our leading defender of gun rights, has also correctly pointed out that "gun free zones... tell every insane killer in America... (the) safest place to inflict maximum mayhem with minimum risk." (March 4, 2016 and Dec. 21, 2012). . ."

Dreams . . .

. . . to me, are a very strange, yet probably a very normal, uneventful function of a human organ - the brain.

In fact, I believe that dreams are the waste products of the brain. Why not? If you pay attention (if you can remember your dreams at all) there is usually one element (sometimes multiple elements) within your dream that you can directly follow back to something real that happened to you or that you thought of, most likely (but I doubt without exception) the day before you had the dream.

I remember distinctly when one summer evening as a teenager, my best friend at the time and I were sitting near the curb of my family's quiet street having one of our many usual discussions on life. When one, lone automobile came down the road, stopped politely at the stop sign before proceeding through the intersection and slowly out of our site, my friend remarked that life was quite arbitrary and one could never be sure that when that car stopped at the stop sign, the barrel of a gun would not become apparent aiming out the car window directly at us and . . . BOOM!!! And he was and is correct.

That very night, I found myself at the same location on the curb near my house, talking with the same friend on another warm, summer night - in a dream, of course. And since these discussions frequently involved laughter as well a matters of substantial gravity, we were laughing. That laughter was interrupted by one, lone automobile slowly approaching our location and the stop sign at the corner of the intersection of Gough and Old North Point. Upon stopping we noticed the car window was slowly being lowered. We saw no face but began to perceive an object being leveled through the open window in our direction. It appeared ring-like at first, but in what seemed to be hours, but was in reality only seconds, it registered upon the young psyche of each of us that this was, indeed a weapon of some sort. As we groped for words and more importantly to summon the energy to take some action, I only remember staring directly at that gun barrel for a small eternity before eventually hearing a tremendous . . .

BOOM!!!

. . . which awakened me.

My juvenile, novelty displays. . .

. . . of musical ability and my family entertainment concerts and recitals finally led me into the BIG TIME. Well, I do exaggerate. By BIG TIME, I simply mean that I was ready to play some REAL music with some REAL musicians in a REAL band at a REAL venue in front of a REAL audience. . . and all this for some REAL MONEY. I use the term audience loosely since it was not the concert hall for which I was bound. Nor was it a 'listening' room nightclub complete with dim lights and smoky air. No my BIG TIME was the old Harbor Inn (in Baltimore) with two guys from my high school and immediate neighborhood, a mere stone's throw away from our house. The name upon which we (now that think about it, more probably THEY) decided was REFLECTION. Our repertoire included 'Playground in my Mind' (a 'gem' from the 70s); 'Ebb Tide' (a standard by Robert Maxwell from 1953); 'Proud Mary' (quite contemporary yet still overplayed, even at the time); 'Bad, Bad Leroy Brown' (ditto); 'Colour My World' (the Chicago tune that was overplayed but, HEY it's Chicago); 'Taking Care of Business' (rocker by Bachman Turner Overdrive); and, well you get the picture. Our band uniform was a beige, flower patterned, loose, blousey-fitting shirt with 'puffy' sleeves (a la Seinfeld); Bright Yellow 'elephant' pants with cuffs and (dig this)- chocolate brown shoes with three-inch heels. I remember the Mother of our guitarist taking photos before we departed for our first gig but I do not know if they survive and in whose possession they now would be. Would that be a blessing or a curse?

Life is truly stranger than fiction. . .

"A British tourist recently died after she allegedl flew to Philadelphia to get
silicone injections into her buttocks at a Hampton Inn, sources say.
Police are executing a search warrant at the Hampton Inn on Bartram Avenue
Tuesday afternoon with suspicions that someone is renting rooms in which he or
she performs butt implant procedures, sources say.
Suspicions of these hotel-room medical procedures came about after a woman
visiting from England allegedly died after a butt enhancement procedures and was
taken to a local hospital, according to court documents.
Several women from England recently traveled to Philadelphia to receive butt-
implant procedures in hotel rooms, court documents say.
The Delaware County medical examiner's autopsy is not yet complete."
