Sometimes I feel 
Like I'm doing this thing
Which I love and I'm good at,
But what does it bring?  
Satisfaction, is one thing,
For a job that's well done.
Entertainment is another,
For it really is fun.
Intellectual stimulation,
Very wordy, but true,
When it's honestly good
to the critic that's you. 
So the tally adds up 
To much more than I thought.
Now I find I'm producing
So much more than I've bought.

Call . . .

We got along famously so.
No indication of discord.
Then like a bolt from the blue 
Or beyond without warning, 
Silence.

Comfortable fit, shoes hat or glove.
Almost my own epidermis.
My own right arm, the very
Sustenance that I require;

Professed undying devotion to
Each other then. Back in the past.
No single trace of dissatisfaction.

Mystery one not to be solved. 
All circumstances still suspect.
No rocket scientist 
Needed to read all the writing

My newest album Grains, was released June 7, 2022. It is an 'eclectic yet approachable' collection of songs available for digital download only, via the worldwide web.  'Grains' is an amalgamation of jazz influences and chops, Brill Building pop-writing,  (and diametrically opposed to 2016's release- No Frills, a strictly solo piano, instrumental album) and colors from a life well-lived and loved. The album title denotes the grains of sand that fall through the hourglass and their representation of time, for as we all know, as a great (yet anonymous) frog once said, ‘Time’s sure fun when you’re having flies.’ Songs includes 'Broken'- a former tyrant expressing his regrets, 'Thinking'- a pure love-song, 'Otherwise' and 'Elephants'- reflections on recent events and 'Baggage'- the frustration with the everyday grind; something we can all appreciate at one time or another. You can find it at most online music retailers, including music.apple.com and amazon.com.

Subconscious . . .

Woke up from a dream,
It seemed very real.
Its fantastic premise
Left an eerie feel.

Johnny Cash sat 
With Alice Walker,
Her name was changed
To discourage stalkers.

She blasted folks,
Which appeared as subordinates,
For various and sundry
Violation of coordinates.
 
But Johnny just sat there
Across from the table,
His eyes concentration,
His countenance stable.

I approached them, the two,
With a slight bit of caution,
While packing a pipe,
Something no more an option.

But something prevented
My discourse with the man.
It wasn't a shyness,
Though I am a big fan.

As in dreams, there's no logic,
And it can't be provoked.
So I just simply watched it
Up until I awoke.
