I Want It . . .

https://www.thebalance.com/what-is-money-and-how-it-works-4160957

So I said,
I've got a roof o'er my head.
Some people can't even say the same thing.
But it's still not a fact
I can take any comfort in.
I want more to make up my legacy.
I'm not poor but everybody's telling me

Money can't buy everything.
You've heard it time again.
No money can't buy happiness.
When will you learn this fact of life my friend?

So I said,
I've got my very own bed.
I don't give it much thought
When I lay down my head.
But it's cold and it's lonely
In December on the street.
Why do you tell me these kinds of things.
I want more of luxuries that wealth can bring.

I want to be a squire a king a country gentleman
If I can if I can.
I want to get respect for what I have
And not for what I am,
Just a man, just a man.

So I said,
It's more than daily bread
That I'm talking about.
Can't you hear what I said?
You see, everything changes
But we have to admit,
What exists needs to be recognized,
Not merely out of our fear of being duly chastised.

Songs . . .

After several years of 'peddling' pop songs (as a writer) to the music business, my sons told me that I should just play my songs, all alone, on the piano and essentially perform just the way I did in the living room everyday. The idea made sense. After all, music is my passion and not 'work' per se. The pure joy of creating the music is ample reward for the effort invested, or in business school parlance - the ROI is good. 'Pam's Song', which you can access through the YouTube link here opened my first album of recorded music in 2003. Now, almost twenty years on, with development, maturity and lots of technological advances, my musical journey continues.

The Con . . .

(from Trumpocalypse: Restoring American Democracy by David From)
". . . because so many of the core Trump supporters were in on the scam from the start, they will not be troubled to exit the scam when it finally deflates. I never thought Trump was a real conservative. I always said his tweeting would get him into trouble. I was not pro-Trump; I was anti-media bias. When support of Trump becomes disadvantageous, his top supporters will erase the memory of their support from their consciousness. Trump keeps faith with nobody, and he has recruited an inner circle as faithless as himself. . .  But out there in America are tens of millions of people who were not invited into the con. They were duped. Trump duped them by acting out their fears, hatred, and prejudices. . . "

Dumb . . .

. . . luck?

This 'song' was not originally intended to be a song. It was actually the 'break' or solo contained within the composition Third-Hand Intelligence (pre-OHO version) as it was written. I was pleased with the performance and the digital ensemble was simple yet effective. So when I was trying to decide how to bring 'Critic's Choice' (my 2nd album) to a close, this music made sense. Not sure if I'd call it dumb-luck or kismet, but for me, it worked.  Give a listen . . .

Blameless? . . .

(from https://www.huffpost.com/entry/paul-manafort-blameless-life_n_5c81bc3de4b08d5b785fc732)
". . . Judge Says Manafort Led An 'Otherwise Blameless Life.' His Resume Says Otherwise. . . Prosecutors had argued that under sentencing guidelines, Manafort, 69, should serve between 19 to 24 years in prison after he was convicted in August on eight counts of tax and bank fraud. “Manafort acted for more than a decade as if he were above the law, and deprived the federal government and various financial institutions of millions of dollars,” they wrote, stressing that “the sentence here should reflect the seriousness of these crimes.”. . . But Judge T.S. Ellis called a decades-long term in prison “excessive” on Thursday, saying Manafort had “lived an otherwise blameless life.”. . . "
