Tubing . . .

I create original solo instrumental - and occasionally including a 'virtual' ensemble - piano melodies that are unique, fluid, refined, rhythmic and feature jazz-inflected improvisation. I also contribute to the OHO musical collective. My ten recorded releases (from between 2003 and 2016 - see https://store.cdbaby.com/Artist/RayJozwiak) contain positive, infectious music that can be enjoyed through active listening or simply used for background. I have come to the realization that my personal taste in music (as well as most other things) does not fall in line with that of the public in general. I demure from usage (or acceptance) of the word ""genius"" when reference is being made to an artist or entertainer (athlete, novelist, statesman etc.) I laud anyone who creates art (entertainment) from their very own personal experience and will defend its validity as a wholly human prerogative. Ray is the originator, and chief perpetrator of “Gonzo Piano”, defined as idiosyncratically subjective, but engaging. This creative approach to Jazz has earned Ray the reputation of innovator and experimentalist.

RONNY SMITH AND FRIENDS
Ronny and his high powered band will get the show jumping. He has released 6 CD’s of original music, and published 3 books. Most importantly he served our country for over 30 years in the US Army Jazz Band delivering morale, community outreach and world outreach.

JOSH BAYER TRIO
This world class guitar player is back with his trio for another wonderful show. Josh is on the faculty of American University, teaching improvisational Jazz, and leading the AU big band. A good friend to this venue, he’s is the epitome of the performer/educator, who has the talent and the ethos to share it with others.

. . . writing to let you know that Baltimore's own OHO will be releasing their latest album, following 2008's Bricolage, entitled GAZEBO. The collection is chock-full of original, prog, folk, pop, rock, jazz-inflected joy from Jay Graboski, David Reeve, Ray Jozwiak (with Bill Pratt's impeccable engineering and production) featuring contributions from a host of local and regional talent including T. Craig Considine, P. Daly German, Lisa Griffee, David Hughes, Mark O’Connor and Bill Phelan, to name just a few. The songs run the emotional, topical and stylistic gamut from A to Z and beyond, beginning with the opener, Ring In The Rightness- a positivity anthem for today, and including fusion instrumental Sought of Despond, multiple rockers and shakers, swampy Nawrlins, a touching ballad and much more.
