How . . .

. . . quickly we forget

(from https://medium.com/s/story/in-death-khashoggi-exposes-the-corruption-of-kushner-and-trump-236c85e659aa)
". . . With respect to the (Khashoggi) assassination, Trump and Kushner both have skin in the game. Saudi Arabia was the first state visit Trump made as president, a trip organized and pushed for by Kushner, who is chummy with MbS and has acted as the de facto ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Khashoggi was not banned from Saudi media for his criticisms of MbS, but rather for his criticisms of Donald Trump. More importantly, U.S. intelligence knew of a plan to lure Khashoggi back to arrest him, so the president and the de facto ambassador to Saudi Arabia must have also known. If they knew and did not share the information with Khashoggi, they are liable. Per the Washington Post:Intelligence agencies have a ‘duty to warn’ people who might be kidnapped, seriously injured or killed, according to a directive signed in 2015. The obligation applies regardless of whether the person is a U.S. citizen. Khashoggi was a U.S. resident. . . Why exactly are Trump and Kushner going to the mat for MbS? Is it to advance U.S. interests—or their own? . . . Last October, Jared Kushner paid an unannounced visit to Riyadh, where it’s reported that he stayed up until the wee hours talking “strategy” with the crown prince, apparently his new BFF. He allegedly gave MbS an “enemies list” culled from the classified president’s daily brief, which MbS seems to have used the following month to purge disloyal relatives from government and take their money. Also last October, Kushner’s company received a $57 million loan from Fortress Investment Group, which was recently purchased by SoftFund, a Saudi investment concern, to bail out its troubled property at One Journal Square in Jersey City. (A larger and more widely-reported loan, to bail out the troubled property at 666 Fifth Avenue, came the following summer, via Qatar.). . ."

Perfect . . .

. . . forget it . . .

(from xhttps://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/perfection)
Definition of perfection
1 :the quality or state of being perfect: such as
a :freedom from fault or defect :flawlessness
b :maturity
c :the quality or state of being saintly
2 a :an exemplification of supreme excellence
b :an unsurpassable degree of accuracy or excellence
3 :the act or process of perfecting

. . . my personal view is that there is no place for perfection in creative music. This is a refreshing contrast to my 'other' life. Music is too relative, but then so is perfection. But as a creative musician, I do practice, develop, refine, allow for the evolution, or metamorphosis, change at all times in order to best express myself.  Yet another version of an original composition which has been 'cooking' for quite a while now, and which is being practiced continuously in the pursuit of 'perfection' (for lack of a better word), is here for a listen . . .

Lest We . . .

. . . forget . . .

. . . there was another pope, in our lifetime, with the same potential as Pope Francis.  Tragic story though. . .

(from http://www.nairaland.com/3339/murder-name-god-slaying-pope)
Pope John Paul I died only 33 days into his Pontificate (August 26, 1978 - September 28, 1978). It was one of the shortest reigns in the annals of the papacy. The official cause of death was myocardial infarction (a heart attack). But there was a great deal of confusion in the details of his sudden death, and many were crying - murder!

The "Smiling Pope," as he was affectionately called was born Albino Luciani on October 17, 1912 near Belluno, Italy. He was ordained in 1935, made Bishop in 1958 and became patriarch of Venice in 1969. He received his cardinal's hat in 1973. He was a staunch believer in ecumenism and the reduction of Church wealth. He was warm, humble and had no aspirations for the papacy. After Pope Paul VI died, Luciani was elected on the second day of the Conclave in 1978. He refused to wear the papal tiara or to be carried in the gestatorial chair. He was praised as a liberal reformer who read Mark Twain. He was on a mission to reverse the Church's position on contraception, cleaning up the Vatican bank and dismissing many Masonic cardinals.

Lest . . .

. . . we forget

(from http://mic.com/articles/18987/obama-humans-rights-violations-we-must-demand-accountability-in-the-encore-term)
". . . even the most vehement rights defenders have barely mentioned the extrajudicial killings of Americans, the deaths of innocent civilians in the drone war, or indefinite detention. Yes, Obama ended Don't Ask Don't Tell, defended free speech on the internet, and bolstered socioeconomic rights with his health care plan — for this he deserves great credit. But supporters must be honest with themselves: overall, Obama has a very mixed rights record and we’ve done next to nothing to challenge him on it. . . . Human rights proponents who support Obama have fallen to the rabid partisanship that pervades this country; they are afraid to criticize “one of their own” too harshly for fear of losing political ground. This must stop. If we want to continue to create a more ethical society, all of us, regardless of political affiliation, must be courageous enough to challenge our leaders—even, nay especially, when we like them. If we support the principles, not the politicians, those politicians will be forced to become more principled."
