. . . like absolutely NO, NRA-owned senator or congressman will seriously address the issue of gun control until the gunmen start shooting THEM and their families. . .
. . . do I want my taxes to fund additional security for Congressman who think that automatic and semi-automatic weapons (which did NOT exist at the time the U.S. Constitution was written) belong on the streets in Everytown, USA. . . ". . . for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. . ."

". . . But now, in today’s intensely polarized political environment, more members want to reconsider their own security needs. . . “Everyone’s getting a bunch of death threats right now,” said Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) as lawmakers exited a closed-door briefing on Capitol Hill with law enforcement officials. “A lot of members were asking for changes.”. . . Lawmakers feel particularly vulnerable at rowdy town hall events or when traveling unprotected away from the watchful eyes of police patrolling the Capitol complex. One lawmaker involved in Wednesday’s shooting noted that his great concern was that none of the ballplayers was armed and able to stop the shooter. . . "
Writing to ask you to take the leadership in having Congress begin the process of writing some ethics laws which WILL apply to the office of President of the United States and his staff. “You must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place, oblige it to control itself.”
wrote James Madison in The Federalist Papers. True, all of our Presidents, until now, possessed the principles necessary to understand the immense responsibility they undertook with the office. But alas, this is 2017 and that is no longer a fact.
Please help the good people of this country, and future generations, to ensure that holders of the highest office in the land are held to the standard which any moral being would naturally subscribe.
This is important because we now know, beings other than moral ones can actually be elected to this office.
On August 1st, 2012, Rep. Kelly made a comparison between a woman's right to chose contraception and having it covered by the Affordable Care Act to the attacks of Pearl Harbor and 9/11. Stating that "I know in your mind, you can think of the times America was attacked," he said at a press conference on Capitol Hill. "One is Dec. 7, that's Pearl Harbor Day. The other is Sept. 11, and that's the day the terrorists attacked. I want you to remember Aug. 1, 2012, the attack on our religious freedom. That is a day that will live in infamy, along with those other dates." (from Wikipedia.com)
Statement by Senator Inouye
in response to Representative Mike Kelly's (R-Pa.) comment linking the birth control mandate to the attack on Pearl Harbor and 9/11 terrorist attacks
Wednesday, August 1, 2012
“I witnessed the attack on Pearl Harbor and had the privilege of serving in the United States Army during World War II and I find the comments made by the Congressman from Pennsylvania to be misguided and insulting. It is complete nonsense to suggest that a matter discussed, debated, and approved by the Congress and the President is akin to a surprise attack that killed nearly 2,500 people and launched our nation into the second World War or a terrorist attack that left nearly 3,000 dead and led to fighting and dying in Afghanistan and Iraq. Having fought for this nation in Europe, I find that I have a special kinship with those who served in Afghanistan and Iraq and I routinely visit with the most severely wounded veterans of those conflicts. Just yesterday I met with a brave young man who lost all four of his limbs in Afghanistan. I hope the Congressman from Pennsylvania has the courage to share his comparison with them,” said Senator Daniel K. Inouye.
