We complain the floor's uneven  When we simply don't know how to dance  In a sentimental treason 

Each word is charged as every glance My foes approach and I start singing How do I defend against

my friends?  The treasure buried where I fumbled  The ball into the tiger's den  Maddened fingers

spar  With the laughing strings  I was very close but no cigar  We were on the corner with our cup

The lad with light feet made the girl light up  Putting the pep back into the step  Where you would

leap is now where I have leapt I'm an easy victim of nostalgia  I was making friends among the blind 

The filament was bright at high noon Radiating from the signs  Maddened fingers spar With the

laughing strings It was very close but no cigar  Find the low denominator  With a hundred pairs of

eyes  Leaning on an arm that failed us  Against the grain it's common life  I was choking on

imagination  Still I know I get the gist   Sifting through a tired memory  In Paris turning with the twist

I, personally, could not paint my way out of a paper bag.  (Nor have I found myself inside a paper bag with a paint brush recently.)  But, I will be playing my original, jazz-inflected, solo piano compositions [with a few covers of well, and not-so-well known tunes] this Saturday, March 30th at Towson's Bread and Circuses Bistro.  Music starts at 6PM.

OHO? Aha! That's a name that rings bells. Baltimore's answer to Pink Floyd, an American underground icon, a band that came out of nowhere playing music the chroniclers swore was years ahead of its time. OHO sneaks around the musical conventions that have mummified so many others, unleashing sliders where you'd expect curve balls, fast balls where you'd expect change-ups. Part of its their sense of humor, part of it their unerring humanity.

". . . I'd like to promote some coolness scheduled to happen in the Spring of next year.
As many of you know, I've dabbled in numerous genres of music over the course of my career - more than once jumping into material with a decidedly jazz-influenced bend. During one of those periods, I polished up some bits and pieces of a song I'd started years ago called "Distraction". Fast forward to more recently and bring into play my friend, pianist Ray Jozwiak. In the course of our working together a few times, Ray came to arrange an instrumental version of Distraction heavily flavored with his own unique style. Well, I've just been informed that the song will appear on Ray's new CD "Black and White Then Back", scheduled to be released in April 2013. I'm highly honored by all this and urge lovers of instrumental jazz piano to look up this new disc when it's released to the world next Spring. Thanks Ray! . . . "
