Whenever you call me
And I’m not on the phone,
If you have a problem

Count on me that much.

Just a couple days, I’m there.

". . . Highly publicized allegations of insider trading in advance of 9/11 generally rest on reports of unusual pre-9/11 trading activity in companies whose stock plummeted after the attacks. Some unusual trading did in fact occur, but each such trade proved to have an innocuous explanation. For example, the volume of put options — instruments that pay off only when a stock drops in price — surged in the parent companies of United Airlines on September 6 and American Airlines on September 10 — highly suspicious trading on its face. Yet, further investigation has revealed that the trading had no connection with 9/11. A single U.S.-based institutional investor with no conceivable ties to al Qaeda purchased 95 percent of the UAL puts on September 6 as part of a trading strategy that also included buying 115,000 shares of American on September 10. Similarly, much of the seemingly suspicious trading in American on September 10 was traced to a specific U.S.-based options trading newsletter, faxed to its subscribers on Sunday, September 9, which recommended these trades. The SEC and FBI, aided by other agencies and the securities industry, devoted enormous resources to investigating this issue, including securing the cooperation of many foreign governments. These investigators have found that the apparently suspicious consistently proved innocuous. . ."

Munchener Ruck’s share price dropped 22 per cent after the attacks. . .On 7 September 2001, the number of ‘put options’* on British Airways was four times normal volumes. British Airways shares dropped 42 per cent over the following week. . . Between 6-7 September, 4 744 put options were bought on United Airlines, six times the normal volumes. Assuming that 4 000 of these options were bought by terrorists with advance knowledge of the imminent attacks, these ‘insiders’ would have profited by almost $5 million. . . On 10 September, 4 516 put options were bought on American Airlines, 285 times normal volumes. Assuming that 4 000 of these options were purchased by ‘terrorist insiders’, they would have netted a gain of about $4 million. . ."

That's how he floods the zone -- by spinning lies for his podcast "posse" on a daily basis -- and by attracting outside and outsized attention. Throughout the day on Monday, I noticed journalists and social media commenters wrestling with this issue. As Charlie Warzel said in 2019, "content creation and shamelessness" is a "potent combination." That's even more true today...". . . "

Just when I thought my little 
Empire would never be conquered.
I was invincible. 
Went from the frying pan
Right into the fire.
Now I don’t care at all.
I’m one smooth operator,
But standing two feet tall;
Was like some great dictator.

Damn the coffee. 
Damn the sugar. 
Damn the colonies.
Where’s my future?
What awaits me?
I don’t want to be
Napoleon of broken dreams.

So when I got myself
A taste of that glorious power.
It was intoxicating.
The more I took became
The more that I wanted. 
But soon the thrill was gone.
Wanted to meet my maker.

Could be people like me

The music of prehistoric cultures is first firmly dated to c. 40,000 BP of the Upper Paleolithic by evidence of bone flutes, though it remains unclear whether or not the actual origins lie in the earlier Middle Paleolithic period (300,000 to 50,000 BP). There is little known about prehistoric music, with traces mainly limited to iconographical evidence, as well as some simple flutes and percussion instruments.
