Together . . .

The moon in June and sweet perfume
Have been used in a million love songs.
But they just don’t belong in a song about you.
Many is the time i want to tell you that i love you.
I tried so hard to write it down in oh so many different ways.
But every word I’ve written seems to come out wrong.
And every catchy phrase doesn’t quite say
All that I want it to say.

We’ll be together
For a very long time.

This hue of blue that I feel without you
Isn’t something a sane man would say.
But I said it today when the words got away.
I want to cut the fat. I want to cut right to the chase now.
I want to tell the world exactly how you make me feel.
But feeling is the easy part;  the telling is hard.
Words don’t mean anything until til you try to
Speak from inside your heart.

I need to touch your hand; don’t want to face another day without you.
My lack of voice; articulation of emotion’s overpowering me.
But how can I express these things from deep down inside.
I’m just a mortal man trying to tell you all of these thoughts I can’t hide.

Where land meets the water and folks just have fun.
To some, its an important part of the environment
Which requires attention and care for our future.
On one other level, to some its pure godly,

Complete . . .

There’s a boy in a room.
It’s a cavernous room,
With the walls all festooned
With the likenesses of
Sincere and humble, pious faces.

The eyes were watching,
Intently so.
Suspiciously watching,
But they weren’t the eyes
Of some omniscient, single, potent being.
They were the eyes of my fellow man,
And oh the things they did see.

By design or by fate,
From the boy grew the man,
And believing in magic,
Drew his comfort from what 
They called his deep faith
And perseverance.

All those around him
And the vast majority believed
In it too,
So much resembling dependent infancy 
I shudder. Shudder!

As a product of his time,
And of nurture, it appears,
He pushed on where his intellect
Showed him how to proceed
Without any invasive deities.

Dr. Seuss Enterprises said that it had decided last year to end publication and licensing of the books by Theodor Seuss Geisel. The titles include his first book writing under the pen name Dr. Seuss, “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street” (1937), and “If I Ran the Zoo” (1950). . . “These books portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong,” Dr. Seuss Enterprises said in the statement. The business said the decision came after working with a panel of experts, including educators, and reviewing its catalog of titles. . . Mr. Geisel drew political cartoons for a New York-based newspaper, PM, from 1941 to 1943, including some that used harmful stereotypes to caricature Japanese and Japanese-Americans. Decades later, he said he was embarrassed by the cartoons, which he said were “full of snap judgments that every political cartoonist has to make.”. . . "
