Roadblock . . .

I can see clearly now
The path that lies ahead.
The obstacle most obvious
We very soon will shed.
Our concentration can resume
Without distracting, daily shock.
New day is dawning. Wakeup now.
We're rid of that Roadblock.

Poison . . .

(from https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/trump-s-2020-election-lies-prove-there-are-no-moderate-ncna1247504)

". . . Former Vice President Joe Biden has won the election. Every one of these Republican members of the House and the U.S. Senate are sophisticated politicians. They all have some fluency in vote counting, and they know Trump lost. The president's dangerous accusations are baseless. And by encouraging them, conservatives are injecting cyanide into the country's polity. It's a lethal poisoning of faith and belief in the system, and it is astonishing to see it playing out in real time. . . "

Sensitive . . .

Wishing upon a star
Takes me so very far.
Just don’t play around with my heart.
You must take special care
Not to damage or tear
Just the smallest little part.

Sometimes I’m not too clear
What is this thing that I fear.
It’s so difficult to describe.
How can something unknown
Make me feel so alone.
I should be the bigger man
But I clearly won’t.

I'm just a sensitive flower.
I’m such a sensitive sould.
I'm just a sensitive flower.
So I've been told.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Maybe the way I react
Lacks some refinement or tact.
I just do the best that I can.
Sometimes we’re out in a crowd
Full of opinion so loud.
I go back inside of my shell.

No matter how very hard
I try to change how I behave.
I just can’t seem to please
All the people even half the time.
Do you think that I can be saved?

In this state of affairs
Don’t get caught unawares.
Just be cognizant of what’s there.
Why do those who can’t see
Think that some vision can’t be
Advantageous to possess
For someone like me.

Nutshell . . .

(from https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-biggest-accomplishments-and-failures-heading-into-2020-2019-12#failure-contracting-covid-19-14)
Accomplishment: Reshaping the federal judiciary. . .
Accomplishment: Space Force . . . a $738 billion defense spending bill . . . In many ways, the new branch is simply a more centralized version of military missions in space that already existed from the Air Force, Army, and Navy. . .
Accomplishment: Tax reform . . . It permanently slashed the corporate tax rate to 21% from 35% while also providing temporary benefits for individuals and their families. . . Critics argued it was a windfall for massive corporations at the expense of the middle class. Meanwhile, supporters of the tax cuts contended it would unleash an economic bonanza. . . But the law has achieved none of the ambitious goals that Republicans put forward — and there are scant signs they ever will. . .
Accomplishment: First Step Act . . . to address mass incarceration at the federal level. . .
Accomplishment: Defeating ISIS's caliphate and killing Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi . . . Trump has at times falsely claimed that ISIS is totally defeated, embellishing the extent of the US military's success against the terrorist organization during his presidency. . . it's still estimated to have up to 18,000 fighters in Iraq and Syria. . .
Failure: Charlottesville and George Floyd . . .
Failure: America's global image is in shambles . . .
Failure: Family separations and the deaths of migrant children . . .
Failure: Iran, Syria, and Afghanistan . . . Meanwhile, The New York Times in June reported that US intelligence officials determined Russia has paid bounties to Taliban-linked Afghan militants to kill US troops. . . The Trump administration has taken no known responses. . .
Failure: Replacing the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare)
Failure: Impeachment
Failure: COVID-19 pandemic
Failure: The US economy
Failure: Contracting COVID-19

Riding . . .

High in the saddle or high on the hog,
These expressions get tedious, get me lost in the fog.
Speak your voice in the open, profits none if you're hiding.
When you're honestly being, it's as easy as riding.
