Honolulu . . .

Southward bound,
A latte grande on the seat
Between my legs.
All around,
I see the saints,
I see the dregs.
And the byproducts of civilization
Enter, exit from stage left, stage right.

Another monument
To the elusive and mysterious
Honolulu Harry,
The richest man I know.
Honolulu Harry,
The richest man in this life
Or the next.

Through the town,
Sometimes with baggage,
Some without,
Making a livelihood.
Up or down,
Any direction that you choose
And among the fast foods, strip malls and traffic,
There’s that name again as plain as day.

Harry was certainly rich,
But it only was money.
Very few liked him that much.
Now it seems kind of funny.

Just the sound
Of his name spoken with respect
And reverence that’s owed to him,
Brings to mind
Beneficence
Without a peer.
And it warms the heart to think of the thousands
Harry helped, but not while he was here.

Can't . . .

https://www.irishcatholic.com/removing-religious-oaths-an-attack-
on-pluralism-says-td/

. . . say enough about TRUTH

(from https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox/FMfcgxwKjTMPqRKwtnTVNnHfRJDjRtdC)

". . . not only liberated himself from truth, he liberated others to tell their lies or spread his — and reap the benefits. His party’s elders did not care, as long as he kept the base energized and voting red. Fox News didn’t care, as long as he kept its viewers glued to the channel and its ratings high. Major social networks only barely cared, as long he kept their users online and their numbers growing. Many of his voters — even evangelicals — did not care, as long as he appointed anti-abortion judges. They are “pro-life,” but not always pro-truth. . .

. . . That is why it’s vital that every reputable news organization — especially television, Facebook and Twitter — adopt what I call the Trump Rule. If any official utters an obvious falsehood or fact-free allegation, the interview should be immediately terminated, just as many networks did with Trump’s lie-infested, postelection, news conference last week. If critics scream “censorship,” just shout back “truth.”. . . "

More Block . . .

Here, nothing but time
On my dirty hands, to no
No avail.
Try as hard I might,
Pour-ing every ounce of
My energy
Into a song,
The only thing I can do for you.
Something is wrong.
Barely a note breaking through.
Hardly a clue.

Dry as a well.
Arid as the desert
I seem to be.
When will it end?
We will see

What, you’re asking,
Is there to be concerned
About in this anomaly?
Sure this kind of thing
Happens all the time to
All practitioners of
Rhythmic expression.
Propelling souls into space; flying
Evoking so
Many emotions within,
Out of the din.

But in spite of this,
I will persevere in
My endless quest for
Voice to express
What I feel.

Refined . . .

. . . the track entitled 'Block' as follows:

-"Crisped"-up the cymbals a bit
-Equalized the solo piano track
-Edited the solo piano track by increasing the 'legato' of certain passage(s)
-Filled in previously-silent measures with melody extended from prior improvisations

. . . and presented here for your enjoyment

Right. . .

. . . as in the "CORRECT" thing to do . . .
 (from https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/michigan-gop-lawmakers-heckled-arrival-white-house-meeting-n1248396)
". . . In a joint statement issued after their approximately two-hour visit to the White House, state Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey and House Speaker Lee Chatfield said they accepted the president's invitation "as we would accept an invitation from any sitting president if asked to meet," but said their position that the voters are the ones who pick the state's electors was unchanged. . . As "legislative leaders, we will follow the law and follow the normal process regarding Michigan’s electors, just as we have said throughout this election," their statement said. . ."

More . . .

. . . Malignant

I know so little. But still
I feel so strongly.
My will may seem immovable ’til
Damage does exceed cost of pride.

So self destructive it seems.
Measure neglecting the team,
Enacted for selfish means.
What’s in it for me? Tell me please.

Was it neglect during my childhood?
Do you suspect foul play?
All of the wealth in the world
Can’t correct it.

Glaring defect in character
You can detect for miles.
How can you suspend basic logic
Like thin air?

Wondering where is our sanity.
Was it thrown out with the trash?
Have all our standards been compromised
Or is this just who we really are?
