Super? . . .

(from wikipedia.com)
NFL Rush Zone: Guardians of the Core is an American action-adventure animated television series. The show centers around a 10-year-old kid named Ish (short for Ishan Howard), who learns he must protect shards of a power source called "The Core", hidden at 32 NFL stadiums. A television movie closed the first season on February 5, 2011. Nickelodeon announced a second season of the show (titled NFL Rush Zone: Season of the Guardians) on September 6, 2012 and is set to premiere on November 30, 2012.

Ish must try to protect one or more NFL team's shard every Sunday while trying not to be caught by his mom. He must protect the shards with the help of OT and the rushers.

Main Characters
Ish - The protagonist of the series and wielder of the strange power known as the Rush Zone, Ish learns that he is the guardian from OT after being watched by him for a while.

OT - The strange man who explains to Ish about the Core, the Rusherz, and Sudden Death.

Sudden Death - The antagonist of the series, he planned on using the Core to take over the Universe and hired Ash when she was rejected as the Guardian. He was destroyed during the final battle for the Core.

The Gameballz - The guardians of Ish.

Huddle - a golden football with laces for a mouth who speaks Spanish.
Fumble - A light salmon colored football with a green mohawk.
Scream - A traditionally-colored football with one eye, who is the more intelligent and tactical of the group.

Ash - (short for Ashley) Works for Sudden Death and helped capture Ish. She was supposed to be the Guardian, but the Hall of Legends had determined her to be unworthy of the job.

Shandra - Ish's mother. OT warns her that, as the Guardian's parent, she is Sudden Death's next target.
Secondary

Bolt - the Chargers Rusher, whom Ish met at the Chargers home game. He is a humanoid creature whose outfit consists of a white and blue football helmet with Chargers lightning bolts for a facemask and wears blue and yellow shorts with floral print. He was voiced by Zach Appelman.

Blitzbotz - Sudden Death's mechanical minions with one mission: collect the shards. They also have an arsenal of corruption footballs, which corrupt biological beings, transforming them into fellow blitzbots. 6 Rusherz had succumbed to this power, but were freed from it after Sudden Death's defeat.

Television. . .

. . . and other things
Maybe it's me, but I don't like TV.  Mind you, I think the technology involved is simply mind-blowing and it has developed in technological brilliance exponentially during the past sixty some years.  But despite the glorious three-dimensional, high definition, digital 5.1 surround-sound audio, the quality content that one may very well expect to be delivered through this miraculous invention seems to be about as scarce as snow in July.

Louie C.K. though. . . pretty interesting.

Change . . .

"After three years at MSNBC, Dylan Ratigan is leaving the network to pursue opportunities outside the television business.

Ratigan, the 4pmET host, will anchor his final show on June 22. In a note to MNSBC staffers this afternoon, Ratigan said he will put his time into telling the stories of individuals who “seize new tools and take cultural risks to resolve our challenges.”

“While it may seem unconventional to leave a rapidly growing political cable show on the eve of a Presidential election, to me, the timing couldn’t be better,” Ratigan wrote. “In fact, the thrill of an opportunity to expand new systems that cost less and give us more in every part of life is impossible to pass up.”

Ratigan joined MSNBC in 2009 after six years at CNBC. He began as the 9-11amET anchor and took over his current 4pmET timeslot six months later.

“Dylan’s distinct voice and his fearless approach to tackling complicated issues has been a key part of MSNBC’s growth and success,” president Phil Griffin wrote in a note to MSNBC staffers this afternoon. “We’ll be watching as Dylan begins his next mission.” . . . "

This can be good for us citizens.  Politics, possibly Dylan?

Where's the Cheer?. . .

. . .That I should feel
Inside my heart
This time of year
While all the
Televisions
Newspapers
And billboards
Count the shopping days
For me

It appears
To me that
I'm the only one
Who doesn't see
The fine and natural
Attraction to what seems
Part race
Part obstacle course
I believe

Long ago I leaned that we
Celebrate this season
Anniversary of the birth
Of someone named Jesus

Through the years
How my perception of it all
Has gone awry
When so much
Manufactured hype
And pressurized requirements
Make it all seem a lie

How I wish
Since it's the
Time of year that
Dreams can come alive
That you and I
See one November when
Without the retail forecasting
Some peace on earth
Goodwill to all arrives

CHEER

I can't explain . . .

. . . or to paraphrase Ellington, 'If you have to ask, you'll never know.'

from Slate By Dahlia Lithwick|Posted Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at 5:57 PM ET
". . . I confess to being driven insane this past month by the spectacle of television pundits professing to be baffled by the meaning of Occupy Wall Street. Good grief. Isn’t the ability to read still a job requirement for a career in journalism? And as last week’s inane “What Do They Want?” meme morphs into this week’s craven “They Want Your Stuff” meme, I feel it’s time to explain something: Occupy Wall Street may not have laid out all of its demands in a perfectly cogent one-sentence bumper sticker for you, Mr. Pundit, but it knows precisely what it doesn’t want. It doesn’t want you.

What the movement clearly doesn’t want is to have to explain itself through corporate television. To which I answer, Hallelujah. You can’t talk down to a movement that won’t talk back to you. . .

. . . By refusing to take a ragtag, complicated, and leaderless movement seriously, the mainstream media has succeeded only in ensuring its own irrelevance. The rest of America has little trouble understanding that these are ragtag, complicated, and leaderless times. This may not make for great television, but any movement that acknowledges that fact deserves enormous credit."

Yeah. . .

. . . blathering again. . .

Music, music, music on my mind. Listening to my friend Doug Alan Wilcox as I write. He's working on a new CD. Check him out. Mellow! (The good kind of mellow.)

Good weekend. Weather is improving. Looking for those damned ants again. Not because I'm looking forward to seeing them. Only because they always show up. But I'm ready for them. I've got my Terro and more on order. Yuck!

Worked in the yard, not one of my favorite things, but actually enjoyed the time with my wife. And alas, another bottle tree grows in Towson. Tricky little suckers though. Gotta get the nails in the post at the perfect upward tilting angle, but not drive them in too far. A good wind though, and I fear their will be some bottles on the lawn to rake.

Watched a bit of the 'reelz' network special on JFK, my minimum weekly television requirement. Some good acting. Even DVRed, seems like there's a commercial after every 3 minutes of program. Sure, we zip through them, still annoying though.

Soothed the soul at the keyboard a bit. Mystic I played to a warm, appreciative congregation at CSL Baltimore on Sunday. Great folks. Love Lisa's soulful voice. (And the rest of the band is good too).

Shutdown of the government was avoided shortly before midnight Friday. That's good for a lot of government employees, that's for sure.

Gaddafi is still hanging in there. WTF???

Gotta go to the day job. Bittersweet. (Balance man, balance.)
