Long . . .

. . . To Be Latin. . .
live. . .

We spin on an axis as bold as love round a sun that’s alight with fire
It’s true our time is marked by the man in the moon
Don’t walk ahead, don’t walk behind, just be my friend and walk by my side
It's real, this life is by in the blink of an eye.

I live and I long to be Latin as beauty rebels against time
I live and I long to be Latin
The cardinal wish for the scent of the red summer rose.

We have walked the dream palace of yesterday
Where myth is truth and the proof’s hearsay
Memories disguised by the ways that we wish they could be
The drives and input are well defined
Lies rolling off dying tongues chill the soul
Chained in gold we walk a lifelong line.

I live and I long to be Latin.  I’m waiting to see my own eyes
I live and I long to be Latin
But what will I wear to the end of the world, my demise?

Upon the chipped dish the rich and pure fare of the love feast, kissing the sky
As we hold hands in a ring, the night to morning link
Contacts with the light

Be my friend, we can walk side by side
Don’t walk ahead you know I won’t walk behind
Though we stumble through our fears and tears
To the cadence and the tune of the spheres.

I live and I long to be Latin to live the fool and die the sage
I reach and intend to be Latin
To make vision real in the face of chance and circumstance
I live and I long to be Latin to take my stand against routine
I live and I long to be Latin
Where living at risk means I can see what others don’t see

Tired. . .

. . . of talk about elections, campaigns, lies, exaggeration, unwarranted emotional appeals, polls, pleas, money, news, pundits, editorials, presidential candidates, voting machines, small business, taxes, rich,  job makers, entitlements, terrorists, embassies, security. . . well you get the picture.

[Remember, vote early, vote often.]

Yes, we are . . .

Question:  Who can disagree with ANY of these?

Answer:  Either someone with an agenda (i.e., rich who want an unfair advantage, corporations with power enough to formulate their own policy, the corrupt, banks who profit from fraud, investment firms taking advantage of 'loopholes' or elected representatives who are OWNED!!!

GENERALizing. . .

. . . about the rich or the poor gets us nowhere . . .

Mitt Romney says that since our current President practices the "politics of division" (he obviously lives in a cocoon),  many intelligent (maybe that's the missing element) Americans are quite conscious of the existing rift between rich and poor in this country.  Pew Social & Demographic Trends found 66% of Americans see strong conflicts between the two groups, and a full 19% more than did in 2009.

Almost half of the people interviewed said they thought rich people are rich because they were born into rich families or know the right people and a comparable percentage thought the rich earned their riches through hard work, ambition or education.

Well, both groups are correct.  And like any other group of two or more human beings, within each of those rich populations there are good, honest, principled people and there are lying, cheating, dishonest charlatans as well.

Much like the perception that rich (sometimes not-so-rich-yet conservative, white-collar-middle-to-upper-middle-class) people hold that poor people are poor because they are lazy and therefore do not work hard, have no ambition and are as a result (or as a cause) have no education.  And they are right also. . . that is about SOME poor people.  But if they are speaking of a group of two or more poor people, they are not considering the good, honest, principled people who have tried but have suffered setbacks, disadvantages, discrimination, bad luck, bad circumstances or bad timing who have not been able to attain the success that some may THINK these poor people could have attained.

At $7,500 a ticket. . .

. . . not many of us 99% will be attending. . .

So maybe Barack Obama will be the lesser of two evils come November's presidential election, and I don't think he is necessarily evil, but he most certainly is conventionally political. Just heard on the news that a fundraiser in Chicago will be held and admission is $7,500 a ticket.

How can we expect to have a president to represent the American people when only RICH PEOPLE have a real say (read:  MONEY) in choosing our candidates?

Occupy America must concentrate their efforts on, among other things, election reform.

This has got to stop.
