Guilt . . .

If there's guilt in your conscience
Perhaps you should think
Did you really do all
That you could?

Did you cover all ground
From the middle to brink
Did you serve the right purpose
That you should?

Or maybe the good
Was just too good to miss
You may well have been selfish
Fearing losing your bliss

And indignant you blustered
Full defending your place
At the height of your privilege

We all surveyed your face
With its alternate smirks,
Grimaces and tears
Leaving us to wonder
What precisely were your fears?

But now its quite clear
That you joined the right club
Those many long years ago
Your position's protected
You have gained your desire
Now your whim and your membership
Join the list of MY fears

Once . . .

. . .  again, made America respected???. . .
(from http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-pol-trump-respect-20180607-story.html)
". . . "We are respected again, I can tell you that. We are respected again," Trump told the naval cadets. "A lot of things have happened. We’re respected again.". . . The evidence — both in nonpartisan polls and in the increasingly critical remarks of exasperated allies — suggests otherwise. . . leaders of long-standing allies like (Japan's President Shinzo) Abe, France’s President Emmanuel Macron, Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel and Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May — all initially deferential to Trump and his famous ego — have grown frustrated and at times disapproving. . . Significantly, so have their citizens, increasing the pressure on foreign leaders to distance themselves from Trump’s America. Across 134 countries, the median approval of U.S. leadership dropped 18 points in Trump's first year, to a record low of just 30%, according to a Gallup survey released in January. That was before Trump's decisions to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal and impose tariffs on a number of allies, which further alienated many of them. . .The finding echoed a Pew Research Center survey last year that found in all but two of 37 nations polled, Trump got far lower marks than President Obama; the exceptions were Russia and Israel. . . "In the main, it's a preposterous claim to say the U.S. is better regarded in the world when we haven't had for many decades this many crises with our allies," said Nicholas Burns, a career diplomat under several presidents — serving as ambassador to NATO and Greece and as undersecretary of State — and now a professor at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. . ."

Work . . .

. . . -out (or applying 'exercise' wisdom to playing music. . .

(from http://www.wiseoldsayings.com/exercise-quotes/)
“Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body."
-Joseph Addison

“To enjoy the glow of good health, you must exercise."
-Gene Tunney

“True enjoyment comes from activity of the mind and exercise of the body; the two are ever united."
-Wilhelm Von Humboldt

“Exercise to stimulate, not to annihilate. The world wasn't formed in a day, and neither were we. Set small goals and build upon them. "
-Lee Haney

“Exercise is labor without weariness. "
-Samuel Johnson

“Few people know how to take a walk. The qualifications are endurance, plain clothes, old shoes, an eye for nature, good humor, vast curiosity, good speech, good silence and nothing too much.  "
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

“If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have found the safest way to health."
-Hippocrates

Irrespective . . .

. . . of differences, we must respect . . .

(from https://www.luvze.com/respect-quotes/)
Without feelings of respect, what is there to distinguish men from beasts?
– Confucius

Honest communication is built on truth and integrity and upon respect of the one for the other.
– Benjamin E. Mays

Be kind, don’t judge, and have respect for others. If we can all do this, the world would be a better place. The point is to teach this to the next generation.
– Jasmine Guinness

Every animal has his or her story, his or her thoughts, daydreams, and interests. All feel joy and love, pain and fear, as we now know beyond any shadow of a doubt. All deserve that the human animal affords them the respect of being cared for with great consideration for those interests or left in peace. – Ingrid Newkirk

Most good relationships are built on mutual trust and respect.
– Mona Sutphen

Respect is what we owe; love, what we give.
– Philip James Bailey

Knowledge will give you power, but character respect.
– Bruce Lee

If we lose love and self-respect for each other, this is how we finally die.
– Maya Angelou

One of the most sincere forms of respect is actually listening to what another has to say.
– Bryant H. McGill

I know . . .

. . . a place
That's not too hard to reach
Where the music is good
And the sand almost bleached

The sun rosy red
About twice every day
Salt air will invigorate
As waves gently play

The ocean is rolling
Almost as in speech
Soothing, cajoling
Down at Bosely Beach

Stuff . . .

. . . I want to know . . .

(from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opiliones)
". . . Opiliones are a distinct order that is not closely related to spiders. They can be easily distinguished from long-legged spiders by their fused body regions and single pair of eyes in the middle of the cephalothorax. Spiders have a distinct abdomen that is separated from the cephalothorax by a constriction, and they have three to four pairs of eyes, usually around the margins of the cephalothorax. . . English speakers may colloquially refer to species of Opiliones as "daddy longlegs" or "granddaddy longlegs", but this name is also used for two other distantly related groups of arthropods: the crane flies of the family Tipulidae, and the cellar spiders of the family Pholcidae, most likely because of their similar appearance. Harvestmen are also referred to as "shepherd spiders" in reference to how their unusually long legs reminded observers of the ways that some European shepherds used stilts to better observe their wandering flocks from a distance. . ."
