The Trick . . .

. . . to taking the high road


. . . is making sure that no one realizes that you are taking the high road.  So you must, in effect, execute the triple-whammy of :

1.  knowing that your goal is the right and proper one without saying so [possibly most important and trickiest]

2.  taking the right tack in presenting (arguing? discussing?) your case diplomatically

3.  doing both of the above in a manner that betrays no 'superiority', sarcasm or preachiness

A Tie is just a tie. . .

. . . a kiss is just a kiss. . . but this is a serious discussion. . .

 

 . . . which began this morning with a colleague about professionalism, decorum and the possibility that proper dress can inspire proper, serious, dedication and professional behavior in those donning same.  I, on the other hand say a feathery 'poppycock' to that in that repression, anti-motivational consequences may result from imposing an artificial dress code upon the workforce in any office and any particular time, especially after a regime of casuality has been practiced for a substantial period. . .

. . . which brought to mind, for no apparent reason, or logic or any intellectual path or progression the ineffable Capt. Spaulding and this immortal tome. . .
