Two. . .

. . . and a half years . . .

Seems to me, that for the two-plus years that the orange man has been the center of national attention, that our press (which, by the way we actually DO need to remain active and free) should have learned ways to better convey to the American public the character of this individual. At this writing, some outlets have improved in some ways; but how could they not, considering how ridiculous some of his antics have become.  My advice is, that when a statement is issued, (for example . . . "he blamed US policy -- not Putin -- for the dismal state of relations between the two countries. . ."[from https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/16/politics/donald-trump-putin-helsinki-summit/index.html])
for which an opportunity is not provided the press for questions, a note be made. The outrageous statement should then be questioned in the very next press conference, be it with a spokesperson or 45 himself. If (and this will most certainly be the case) a clear, logical answer is not provided, the question should be asked (not necessarily during the same press conference) each time the press has an opportunity to ask questions. When the spokespeople or 45 lose patience with hearing the same question and have still not provided a REAL answer, the reporter(s) must clearly and unequivocally explain that a proper answer has not, to date, been provided and that the American people demand as much.

Orange Stuff . . .

(from http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/newspaper-mistakenly-runs-picture-alec-baldwin-snl-instead-trump-n719846)
". . . This was no laughing matter for a major newspaper in the Dominican Republic. . . El Nacional issued an apology Saturday after readers quickly pointed out it used a picture of Alec Baldwin playing President Donald Trump on "Saturday Night Live" — instead of the true Trump's image — for a story about U.S.-Israeli relations. . . The paper said on its website that the gaffe went "unnoticed during the reviewing of page 19" because of a "mix-up of photos" sent by The Associated Press. . . "The picture was sent that day by the Associated Press with the name of the actor and the program, but was placed as if it were the one of Trump," the paper said. "El Nacional apologizes to the readers and to all those who felt sincerely affected by the publication. Alec Baldwin imitates Trump on one of the most important shows in the U.S.". . ."

Orange . . .

. . . must be SOME correlation . . .

. . . to the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives which, just today, voted (for the 56th time) to repeal the Affordable Care Act. This time it's a vote on whether to actually take health coverage away from millions of Americans who now have it.  They said it was 'symbolic.'  I agree.  I 'symbolizes' the idiocy of these particular members of our legislative branch of government.

I didn't need to be speaker because I needed a fancy title or a big office. I wanted to be speaker so I could lead an effort to deal with the serious issues that are facing our country.

Our manifesto, whatever it will be called, will come from the people who are really in charge of this country, and that's the American people.

Every family in America knows they have to do a budget. Every small business in America knows they have to do a budget. Every local government, every state, knows they have to do a budget.

The Piano . . .

. . . still sounds the same . . .

. . . but it's a whole lot easier to get to now.  Not too long ago, our living room was renovated, so to speak, after many years of the same, familiar, yet tasteful and welcoming decor. The furniture was comfortable, small enough to rearrange frequently, greens and rusts prevailed, one wall was papered for accent, all resulting in a quite cozy atmosphere. The new is every bit as wonderful.  All new, larger furniture, beiges, dark wood and orange.  Yes, orange is the accent color.  Funny as is may sound, or maybe it doesn't, it is very tasteful. After the major paint, floor covering and furniture was complete, we concentrated our efforts on finding small, unique, orange items to place throughout the room.

About a month ago, I took a collection of loose papers containing original song material of a couple of artists with whom I occasionally perform and some co-written material and placed them in an old, white binder for safekeeping and easy access.  Since I only use the book on a monthly basis,  I neatly filed it at the edge of a bookshelf in the living room out of the way, a practically out of sight. At least I thought it was out of sight. The chief living room decorator looked up from her ipad the other day and said, "how long has THAT been up there?" which surprised me not a little. The stark white book among the carefully placed books, vases, picture frames and various items of orange and black caught the distinguishing eye of the decorator, and not in a pleasant way.

I agreed, as I in truth knew I would eventually, to move the white binder to a more appropriate location.  The decorator suggested it be placed inside the piano bench, wonderful idea with which I heartily concurred. The problem with that however, was that the bench was chock full of piano tuning receipts, notebooks of original material, beginner piano and guitar publications, and various books and sheet music of popular and classical pieces.

Yesterday I actually made the time to sort through, organize and actually remove extraneous material from the piano bench and neatly file the mysterious white binder in the piano bench.  After about a thirty-minute workout at the the keyboard, I leaned over to scoot the bench neatly under the piano when I realized . . . the vastly reduced weight of the newly organized contents of the bench makes lifting it much easier on my old, aching back. I suppose the entire episode can legitimately be called a 'Win - Win' situation.
