Your . . .

. . . 'public servants' at work . . .

(from https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/first-read/republicans-tried-kill-obamacare-now-they-re-embracing-its-most-n921561)
". . . GOP Senate candidate Josh Hawley in Missouri: “We've got two perfect little boys. Earlier this year, we learned that our oldest has a rare chronic disease. Pre-existing condition – we know what that means,” he says to camera in a TV ad. “I support forcing insurance companies to cover ALL pre-existing conditions. And Claire McCaskill knows it. You deserve a senator who’s driven to fix this mess – not one just trying to hang on to her office.” . . . But as attorney general of Missouri, Hawley signed on to a conservative lawsuit in February 2018 arguing that Obamacare – and everything in it, including protections for pre-existing conditions – is unconstitutional. “Once the heart of the ACA—the individual mandate—is declared unconstitutional, the remainder of the ACA must also fall,” the lawsuit states. . . Another . . .

. . . well-considered, strenuously-analyzed, judiciously scrutinized, soul-searchingly agonized-over, intellectually articulated and mellifluously delivered opinion by our barroom-buddy(who doesn't drink)/tough-guy-in-chief:

"GOP doesn't have the guts to repeal Obamacare"

In his place, I would only have added a heartfelt, "Nah Nah Nah Na NAHHHH  NAHHHHH!!!!!!" with the true spirit of the inner seven-year-old his demeanor exemplifies.

I do suspect however, that his careful choice of words quite accurately reflects his:
a.        comprehension of the many facets involved in such an undertaking AND
b.        emotional maturity and vast capacity for humanitarianism.

Facts . . .

. . . and fiction . . .

Fox's Varney: "New Figures Suggest That Obamacare Will Be Much More Expensive Than We Thought."On the January 27 edition of Fox News' America's Newsroom, network host Stuart Varney claimed that the CBO's report showed that "Obamacare is going to be much more expensive than we thought" and that these "uncovered" costs are "going into our deficit projections." Varney didn't mention the CBO's finding that the ACA will cost less than expected. [Fox News, America's Newsroom1/27/15]

Fox's Hasselbeck: "Bombshell" Report Says Obamacare Will Cost "$50,000 In Taxpayer Money Per Person." During the January 27 edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck reported on the CBO's new estimates, saying the estimated cost of Obamacare would be "two trillion dollars" or "$50,000 in taxpayer money" for every insured American, omitting that the price has actually fallen. [Fox News, Fox & Friends1/27/15]

Wash. Examiner: ACA Will "Spend About $2 Trillion." In a January 26 article, The Washington Examinerreported on the CBO's estimates on healthcare spending without noting that the analysis had actually lowered the cost of funding the ACA. Instead, the Examiner focused on the healthcare law's price tag of "about $2 trillion over the next decade":

The subsidies will cost the government less than originally expected, but are still substantial, the budget office said. “Subsidies in the exchanges are projected to average about $5,000 per subsidized enrollee from 2016 through 2018 and to reach almost $8,000 in 2025,” Mr. Elmendorf said.

Looks Like . . .

. . . Bernie's right. . .

(from bernie@bernie.org)
It is not acceptable that a handful of right-wing extremists in the House have shut down the government and are now pushing for the United States, for the first time in our history, to not pay its bills -- precipitating a likely international financial crisis.  It is widely believed that there now exists in the House a majority of members (virtually all Democrats and some moderate Republicans) who are prepared to vote for a clean continuing budget resolution which would immediately re-open the government.  House Speaker Boehner must allow the House to have that vote.

It is also important that people understand that the real issue here is not just the desire of Republicans to defund Obamacare. At a time when the middle class is collapsing and poverty is increasing, these right-wing ideologues want to repeal virtually every piece of legislation passed in the last 80 years which protects the elderly, the children, the sick, the poor and the environment.  The truth is that ending Obamacare is just a small part of the right-wing extremist agenda, which is heavily funded by the Koch brothers and other very wealthy and powerful special interests.  Their full agenda includes privatizing Social Security, ending Medicare as we know it, slashing Medicaid funding, eliminating the EPA and the Department of Energy and abolishing the concept of the minimum wage.  Needless to say, they also want more tax breaks for the rich and large corporations.  It should be clear to everyone that their long-term goal is to move this country into an oligarchic form of society in which billionaires completely control the economic and political life of this nation.

(from wikipedia.com)
Bernard "Bernie" Sanders is an American politician and the junior United States Senator from Vermont. Before serving in the Senate, he represented Vermont's at-large district in the United States House of Representatives and served as Mayor of Burlington.

(Can't help but mention that one of the comments on YouTube about this video, "It's a bad time when satire does a better job of reporting the story than the actual news reporters" hits it right on the head.)
